2008 Thanksgiving Program

This program assists low-income families from our community by providing them with all of the ingredients needed to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.  If you would like to help a local family in need, please contact us by November 10 so that we can estimate how many families we will be able to provide for.  The suggested basket contents are listed below, but feel free to add a card, note, or other food items that you feel would benefit the family.  Baskets need to be returned to the Township between November 17 and 19 so that they can be distributed in time for Thanksgiving.

Suggested Basket Contents:

Instant Mashed Potatoes (1 large box) Dinner Roll Mix (1 box)
Turkey Gravy (2 cans) Jell-O (2 boxes)
Stuffing Mix (1 bag) Fruit (2 cans)
Cranberry Sauce (1 can) Evaporated Milk (1 can)
Green Beans (2 cans) Piecrust Mix (1 box)
Cream of Mushroom Soup (1 can) Pumpkin Pie Filling (1 can)
Fried Onions (1 can) Brownie Mix (1 box)
Corn (2 cans) Tin Foil (1 roll)
Sweet Potatoes (1 large can) Chicken Broth (2 cans)
Rice

Coffee

Grocery Store Gift Card*

Please note that everything in the basket should be non-perishable.  A large laundry basket works great to package your donation!

·        A $25 grocery store gift card is suggested, but not required, to participate in the program. A gift card enables families to purchase a turkey and   other perishable items for their meal.

If you would like to donate a basket, click here.  If you have any questions, please contact Christine Favia at (847) 358-6700, or cfavia@palatinetownship.com.
